Senn High School utilizes Senn Student Leaders to help build the individual’s soft & hard job skills and to help support the Senn community overall.  The positions are school-based, part-time seasonal support.  Duties are identified by the hiring manager following the application process.  Positions require reliable workers who are able to provide support in areas as requested by the administrators.  These may include, but are not limited to:

  • General Office Support,

  • Duties related to opening and closing out the school day,

  • Data entry, filing, answering phones and other various clerical duties,

  • Duties associated with supporting overall school operations,

  • Duties associated with supporting overall athletic operations,

  • Duties associated with supporting peers in orientation to the building and the processes at Senn HS.

 

Physical Requirements:

Medium Work\: Exerting twenty (20) to fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally, or ten (10) to fifteen (15) pounds of force frequently, or greater than negligible up to ten (10) pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those for light work.

 

Job Summary\: 

Under the supervision of a Senn Employee, such as an Administrator/Teacher/Coach/Counselor, student workers will assist the program with a variety of tasks that help support the program, such as answering phones, entering data, supporting new students to Senn, giving tours of building, assisting in sporting events.  

 

During the school year, student workers must be punctual, dependable and available to work weekdays, after school between 3\:30pm - 7\:00pm, as well as most Saturdays 7\:00am - 3\:00pm, for a total of approximately 3 to 10 hours per week.  This student employee position will be compensated for time worked on an hourly basis. For the school year, the work schedule for this role will consist of an estimated 6 hrs/day after school hours for 2 days per week for an anticipated period of 9 months beginning August and ending May.

 

During the summer, student workers must be punctual, dependable and available to work weekdays, between 8 to 3 pm, for a total of approximately 4 to 30 hours per week. This student employee position will be compensated for time worked on an hourly basis. For the school year, the work schedule for this role will consist of an estimated 5 hrs/day weekdays 5 days per week for an anticipated period of 3 months beginning June and ending August.

 

The Senn Student Leader will complete duties such as the following:

  • Assist students with orientation to Senn HS

  • Monitoring elementary students in activities

  • Assist coaches in games

  • Manage food sales during games

  • Troubleshooting

  • Filing records

  • Making copies of documents

  • Prepare office for registration

  • Input students’ information into the computer system

  • Update monthly calendar

  • Light cleaning

  • Decorating

In order to be successful in completing the above responsibilities, Senn Student Leaders must possess the following knowledge, skills and responsibilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Simple problem solving abilities 

  • Punctual, reliable, team player

  • Organized and able to complete assigned duties in a timely manner

  • Computer skills (PC/Laptop/Chromebook)

  • Strong customer service skills

 

In order to qualify for this student worker position, candidates must be actively enrolled as a CPS student attending their sophomore, junior, or senior year of high school during the 2025-2026 school year, and must be participating in the IB, Fine Arts or Major Studies program. A valid work permit will be required for students under the age of 16.
