Position:  Tour Guide – Guest Experience Internship
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Reports To: Tour Operations Manager
Location: Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory
Date: May 12th – August 1st
 

Position Summary:

Serve as an ambassador for Hillerich & Bradsby Co. and Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory.  Provide dynamic, enthusiastic, professional tours of the Louisville Slugger bat factory.  Hand turn, burn brand, and cover Hold a Piece of History as needed. Assist with programming and rental events as needed. Provide interaction with guests in exhibit areas and bat vault. Will create and implement procedures to help the tour team better gauge overall guest satisfaction and identify areas of improvement. 

This is a paid position that is scheduled to work 40 hours/week. Weekend and evening availability is required.

Essential Functions: 

1. Give six to seven guided tours of the bat factory each day while adhering to the standard tour script and maintaining an enthusiastic, dynamic approach to every tour. 
2. Assist with programming. This includes, but is not limited to, bat vault presentation, hand turning, burn branding, and hold a piece of history experiences. 
3. Maintain the in-gallery guest comment log.
4. Track personal experiences via a daily journal.
5. Compile experiences and observations into a      final report.
6. Work with the leadership team to implement incentive programs for guides.
7. Provide top-notch interaction with all guests in all areas of the museum at all times. 
8. Assist other guides with gathering guests for tours and programming.  
9. Act as go-to guide for special events and after-hours tours.
10. Potentially travel to MLB parks to work the Mobile Museum – travel expenses would be covered.
