This is a paid internship with full-time hours during Summer 2027. This is an office position based in our Chicago, Illinois office.


Your Key Responsibilities



  • Preparing structural design calculations, plans and contract documents in accordance with applicable design and agency standards

  • Development of bridge plans using MicroStation

  • Performs basic calculations to analyze and design structural components using industry standard software

  • Assist with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions



Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials



  • Interest in bridge and structural engineering within the transportation industry

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent oral, written, and graphic communication skills

  • Basic understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of civil design


 Education and Experience



  • Education: Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s degree or master’s degree engineering program #Student

  • Previous experience in Microsoft products such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel 

  • Experience with Bentley MicroStation/Open Roads Designer is a plus


Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time.
