The Ultrasound Technologist Extern performs ultrasound examinations on IP, OP, and ECC patients. Exams are performed per radiologist approved protocols. The Ultrasound Technologist Extern is responsible for obtaining and communicating accurate and thorough patient medical history as it relates to the exam being performed. The Ultrasound Technologist Extern performs other duties in addition to meet the needs of the organization and as deemed necessary by their supervisor. The Ultrasound Technologist Extern will work under the supervision on a Registered Ultrasound Technologist.

Ultrasound Technologist Externs should be currently enrolled in a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and should have a letter of recommendation from clinical instructor of Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Ultrasound Technologist Externs will need to have passed the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography) SPI Physics. Must meet continuing education requirements. Current CPR certification required.
