The approximate date of this internship is June to August 2026 and will be located in Glendale, CA.
As an Architectural Engineering Intern, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the design and implementation of the environments enjoyed by our Guests worldwide. - Provide support to the project team for design and implementation of assigned projects and design intent
- Prepare Facility/Attraction base information documentation (e.g. existing condition descriptions)
- Provide design documentation in the form of graphic illustration and research and documentation on assigned projects
- Perform various basic technical tasks and documentation, including base sheets, construction details, plans/sections/elevations, design drafting, 3D visualization, and general project coordination
- Develop varied architectural project work at all stages from concept, feasibility, or schematic design through the preparation of construction documentation
- Ensure that the design intent is achieved by successfully integrating facility design with allied teams and components of the development such as infrastructure, area development, grading/drainage, structural and MEP engineering
- Coordinate and communicate architectural design issues within the project team, support implementation of project goals through problem-solving and development of design solutions
- Prepare PowerPoint presentation material documenting progress on optimization strategies for multiple projects
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Working knowledge and experience in the use of building materials and products for thematic applications
- Demonstrated proficiency in CADD (Revit and AutoCAD) and digital illustration tools such as Maya, Rhino, Photoshop, Illustrator, and SketchUp
- Skills in 3D software tools
- Knowledge of architecture design and construction techniques
- Knowledge of related areas, including land planning, civil engineering, area development, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more years of internship experience in architectural or engineering design firm
- Membership in one or more professional organizations such as American Institute of Architects, Urban Land Institute, Construction Specifications Institute, or U.S. Green Building Council, is desirable
- Currently earning an advanced degree in Architecture, Landscape or Urban Planning
- Current portfolio included with application submission
Education
Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher attending an accredited college/university earning a BA/BArch degree or advanced degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
Additional Information
- Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work
- Must be fully available for the duration of the internship
- Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship in Glendale, CA
The pay rate for this role in California is $30 per hour for undergraduate students and $31 per hour for graduate level students.
