Job Description:

We're seeking innovative, passionate students to join our 2027 Summer Internship Program. During our dynamic 10-week program, you'll be provided with one-of-a-kind learning and development opportunities, including a blend of on-the-job learning, virtual trainings, opportunities to connect with Executive Leadership, volunteer events and a multitude of other development activities to fuel your career preparation. Schedule: 

The Intern is scheduled to work 40 hours a week. Schedules will vary weekly, based upon business needs.  The Internship will begin on June 7th, 2027 and will end on August 13th, 2027. Please note this position resides in our brand office in Carlisle Pa (1149 Harrisburg Pike, Carlisle, Pa. 17013) and will require 3 in-person days each week in office.

What are we looking for? 

• Students with a minimum GPA of a 3.0 Students who are at least a sophomore in college


• Dietetics or health focused major preferred 

Bonus characteristics that may help you be successful in the role:   

• Previous experience working for The GIANT Company and/or a passion for health, wellbeing, nutrition, or the grocery industry.


• Eagerness to learn about grocery retail and how food, nutrition, merchandising, and marketing can improve customer wellbeing.

 What will you do?

• Partner with our team of registered dietitians to execute the Dietitians Pick shopper marketing program across relevant customer touchpoints.


• Support planning, coordination, and execution of Dietitians Pick shopper marketing campaigns.


• Collaborate with merchandising teams to identify and support opportunities that make healthier food choices easier to find, understand, and purchase.


• Analyze sales data to identify opportunities to grow healthy food sales and evaluate the impact of wellbeing initiatives.


• Conduct research on consumer health and wellness trends, grocery retail best practices, and emerging approaches to nutrition and wellbeing.


• Contribute to the development and execution of The GIANT Company’s health and wellbeing strategy, bringing a customer-focused and data-informed perspective.


• Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Merchandising, Pharmacy, and Operations to support health and wellbeing programs and priorities.


• Assist with wellbeing events, educational initiatives, and other programs that help customers and communities make healthier choices.

Essential Functions/Physical Requirements:

• Interest in nutrition, public health, dietetics, health promotion, consumer behavior, or the grocery retail industry.


• Ability to research and synthesize information related to nutrition, health and wellness trends, and consumer needs.


• Comfort working with data and using insights to support recommendations and measure program performance.


• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook, to effectively communicate and produce work products as assigned.


• Ability to sit, stand, move about, grasp, reach, type, speak, and lift up to 10 lbs. frequently as required by daily work assignments.


• Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in person or virtually.


• Ability to handle confidential material in a discreet and professional manner. Must have the ability to travel for work via personal or community mass transportation if needed.


• Ability to observe company policies and work rules, and perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
