Job Description - Work Study Student Worker - Center for Cyber Excellence

Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion, the student worker will perform tasks assigned by the faculty.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Administrative Support: Assist in scheduling, event planning, and coordination for various Center activities such as seminars, workshops, and board meetings. Help maintain accurate records of center activities.
  • Research Support: Assist in conducting research related to various cyber excellence initiatives, including literature reviews, data collection, and analysis. May also be asked to prepare research summaries or reports.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide technical support for the Center's operations, such as maintaining the website or submitting IT requests.
  • Promotion and Outreach: Help promote the Center's events and initiatives on social media and other platforms. May also be asked to create promotional materials or manage the Center's online presence.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with a diverse team of faculty, staff, and other student workers. Be willing to step in and help with additional tasks as needed to support the Center's goals.

Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies

  • Must be a current undergraduate student in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering.
  • Familiarity with basic administrative tasks, such as scheduling and record keeping.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Basic technical skills, including experience with website management, Microsoft Office, and troubleshooting.
  • Interest in cybersecurity and dedication to promoting cyber excellence.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Specific work hours will be determined based on the student's class schedule and the needs of the Center.
