\n\n WSU Academy\n\n Certified Home Care Aide Float\n\n \n\nGeneral Summary/Responsibilities:\n\nEligibility for this role is limited to students currently enrolled in or attending to enroll in the Premier Health Wright State University Nursing Academy program.\n\n \n\nPremier Health Wright State University Academy eligibility requirements:\n\nParticipants must be a current or intending Wright State University nursing student\n\nParticipants must work part-time at Premier Health/Fidelity Health Care (24 hours per pay period) while attending Wright State University full-time as a nursing student (12 credit hours minimum)\n\nParticipants must qualify for in-state tuition\n\nParticipants must satisfy all Premier Health/Fidelity Health Care pre-employment requirements\n\nParticipants must complete courses to receive tuition assistance from Premier Health\n\nParticipants are financially responsible for payment of any Wright State University educational fees not attributable to a completed course.\n\nTo remain eligible for the program, participants must remain in good standing at both Premier Health/Fidelity Health Care and Wright State University.\n\n \n\nThe WSU Academy Certified Aide Float is a paraprofessional member of the health care team who works under the supervision of a licensed nurse to perform basic nursing tasks as assigned.\n\nThis is a float position to cover skilled and private home care patient needs. This caregiver may also provide physical and mental support for the patient, perform light housekeeping and meal preparation, and provides companionship and personal care.\n\nDIMENSIONS:\n\nAssigned to cases by Scheduling or Supervisor to work with patients in a variety of settings. \n\n *This position is not eligible for sponsorship for an employment visa, including H-1B and permanent residence. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer-sponsorship needs. \n\nQualifications \n\nEducation\n\nMinimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED\n\nAdditional requirements: \n\nType of degree: N/A\n\nArea of study or major: N/A\n\nRequired educational qualifications: Home Care Aide Certificate\n\nPosition specific testing requirement: N/A\n\nRequired: \n\nMust be at least 18 years of age.\n\n \n\nLicensure/Certification/Registration\n\nCNA or STNA\n\nCPR Certification\n\nExperience\n\nMinimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience\n\nPrior job title or occupational experience: Must have completed a basic aide training program and possess a Certificate of Course Completion or have one year hospital or skilled nursing home experience. The basic aide training program must meet OBRA 87 requirements. \n\n \n\nPrior specific functional responsibilities: N/A\n\nPreferred experience: N/A \n\nOther experience requirements: N/A\n\n \n\nKnowledge/Skills\n\nMust also complete the written portion of the competency evaluation with a score of 70% or greater.\n\nAgency must complete competencies.\n\nMust display good physical and emotional health and be capable of stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs. Should demonstrate good personal hygiene.\n\nMust be self-directed with the ability to work with little direct supervision and have the maturity necessary for establishing and maintaining a good work relationship with the patient, the patient\u0027s family and all other office personnel.\n\nMust have a sincere interest in and sympathetic attitude toward caring for the sick and disabled at home.\n\nMust meet all agency personnel policies and have reliable transportation. \n
