The Spiritual Life Assistant is a position that supports the Office of Spiritual Life by assisting with campus programs, worship services, community service initiatives, and student engagement activities that foster spiritual growth and holistic well-being. The student employee provides administrative, event, and outreach support while helping create an inclusive and welcoming environment that respects the diverse faith traditions and beliefs represented within the campus community.

Responsibilities and Career Competencies



  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing campus worship services, chapel programs, spiritual formation activities, and interfaith events. C, TW, L

  • Welcome students, faculty, staff, and community guests at Spiritual Life events while providing excellent customer service and hospitality. C, P, CTR

  • Promote Spiritual Life programs through social media, digital communications, campus announcements, and printed promotional materials. C, T, CSD

  • Provide administrative support by maintaining calendars, preparing event materials, organizing files, and responding to routine inquiries. P, T, C

  • Assist with organizing community service projects, mission opportunities, and volunteer initiatives that strengthen campus and community partnerships. CTR, TW, L

  • Help maintain the Spiritual Life office, chapel, and event spaces by preparing rooms, organizing supplies, and ensuring welcoming, functional environments. P, TW

  • Maintain attendance records, volunteer databases, and program evaluations while ensuring confidentiality when appropriate. T, P, CT

  • Collaborate with student organizations, campus departments, and community partners to encourage student engagement and participation in Spiritual Life programming. TW, C, CTR

  • Participate in leadership development opportunities and serve as a positive role model by demonstrating integrity, respect, inclusion, and professionalism. L, P, CSD

  • Assist with special projects, retreats, and campus-wide events as assigned by the Director of Spiritual Life or supervising staff. TW, L, CSD
