Overview

Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) is a summer academic enrichment residential program for outstanding high school students from around the world that is administered by Yale’s Office of International Affairs (OIA). In 2026, YYGS will host up to 650 high school students at a time in a series of three 2-week sessions. Sessions will cover academic topics in STEM, social sciences, and cross-disciplinary areas.

Around 100 staff members work at YYGS each two-week period, housed in two Residential Colleges on Yale’s campus. Each college contains a Residential Life Team comprised of one Residential Life Lead (RLL), and a team of Residential Fellows. Under the direct supervision of the Associate Director of Residential Life (ADRL), the Residential Life Team is responsible for maintaining a safe and welcoming YYGS community; ensuring the safety and security of YYGS participants; and facilitating residential activities and program operations in their respective college. Residential Fellows will also participate and host social/emotional/educational engagement activities for participants individually, and as a team. Due to the nature of this program, Residential Fellows may also be asked to help perform other duties as assigned by the ADRL.
