Intern, Sports Marketing

This hybrid position will be located at our Corporate Office in New York.

As an Intern, you will learn about the retail and e-commerce industry, participate in a collaborative business project corporate training, meet the Leadership Team, and attend fun virtual events. As an Sports Marketing Intern , you will…

• Gain insight into the Sports Marketing efforts across Foot Locker, Inc.
• Participate in the development and execution of marketing campaigns, conduct market research, and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities in the sports marketing landscape.
• Influence the next generation of youth culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the development and execution of sports marketing campaigns, including social media, digital advertising, and influencer partnerships
• Conduct market research to identify consumer trends and competitive insights
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of marketing efforts with overall business goals
• Assist in the coordination of events and activations related to our partnership with the NBA
• Keep master Sports Marketing calendar up to date and organized
• Take notes during meetings and distribute accordingly
• Create agenda for weekly Sports Marketing and greater team marketing status meetings
• Interact with agency and vendor partners
• Process and track invoices
• Liaise between various internal teams as required, including event marketing, brand, merchandising, creative, etc.
• Learn necessary skills for effective communication with cross-functional partners

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:

To qualify for an internship with Foot Locker, individuals must:

• Be a junior or senior in college pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree and/ or have 3 years of work experience.
• Arrange the internship with the educational institution on a for-credit basis, if necessary.
• Be 18+ years of age at the start of the internship.
• Be able to relocate if offered a full-time role.
• Be available to participate the entire length of program (May 13 th – July 26 th ).
• Be available to work Monday-Friday (40 hours/week).
• Be familiar with and have used Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Access, etc.).
• Able to commute to the designated Foot Locker Office.

GENERAL:

• Familiarity and passion for sneakers and sports.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or a related field or have 3 years of work experience.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities with ease and composure, while prioritizing workload effectively and meeting deadlines.
• Strong sense of initiative drive, creativity, sound decision making and teamwork.
• Effective communication skills (listening, verbal, and written), with the ability to express ideas, problems, and solutions with clarity.
• Demonstrated experience working independently as well as in a team environment.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to take direction effectively.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
