The editorial intern will support the editorial team within the Communications and Marketing department to assist with print and digital projects for the Wexner Center for the Arts. The editorial team’s core task is helping our partners across the center to develop clear, compelling, consistent, and factually correct language that entices and informs varied audiences about our many programs and initiatives. A successful editorial intern will have editorial and writing experience; will be organized and detail oriented; and will enjoy working with fellow writers, editors, designers, project managers, and curators to meet the challenge of translating complex ideas into publications that are accessible and fresh but still accurate and true to different artists’ intents. An interest in arts and culture is key as is a passion for crafting concise, well-structured, and (when appropriate) clever syntax.

The editorial internship will be a great opportunity for those pursuing a career in copywriting, editing, or publishing—especially within a nonprofit/museum context. The editorial intern will gain real-world experience working in a professional, creative agency environment; participate in meetings and brainstorms; contribute to projects with multiple stakeholders; and gain insight into how teams function under a variety of situations (sometimes challenging) to make the best product they can.
