Part-Time Accountant

We are looking for an Accountant who is looking to make the switch to the private sector. We are a well-established Construction company located in Brooklyn close to Industry City that is growing by leaps and bounds. T he Accountant will have the opportunity for professional growth and development. You will gain experience and learn essential industry skills by assisting our team with accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation, and other projects for clients. You will help ensure our records are consistent with all submitted financial statements.

• Ensure all books and records are kept in accordance with GAAP.
• Analyze financial statement
• Perform research for budgeting and financial forecasting
• Knowledge of bank reconciliation
• General Ledger analysis is performed daily
• Knowledge of debits and credit
• Prepare a journal entry using a T account

​ Requirements and Qualifications:

• Must have public sector accounting experience
• Able to analyze financial records and transfer information
• Data entry and word processing skills
• Self-motivated and self-directed
• Accurate and precise attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management skills; able to prioritize
• Assists team members when needed to accomplish team goals
• Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field preferred
