Accountant - Work from home

Job Description:

Huntington Ingalls Industries is seeking a part-time Accountant to work from home in Indianapolis, Indiana. As an Associate level position, the Accountant will be responsible for handling financial tasks, including preparing financial statements, maintaining financial records, analyzing financial data, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting efforts.

Responsibilities: - Prepare financial statements and reports on a regular basis - Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with all accounting standards - Analyze financial data and provide insights to management - Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes - Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions - Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information - Ensure all financial transactions are properly documented and recorded - Assist with audits and tax preparation as necessary - Communicate financial information to management and other stakeholders

Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance - 3+ years of experience in accounting or a related field - Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel - Hardworking and motivated individual with strong attention to detail - Strong decision-making skills and ability to persuade others - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and manage time effectively - CPA certification is a plus
