Job Summary We are currently seeking a dedicated Part-Time Certified Payroll Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll using the Paychex Flex Payroll system, ensuring compliance, and providing exceptional customer service to our employees regarding payroll inquiries. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and prioritization skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with the HR Department. Responsibilities Process and verify payroll transactions accurately, following established procedures and compliance standards. Reconcile payroll reports with timekeeping records to identify and rectify any discrepancies. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, as well as labor laws. Manage voluntary deductions such as health insurance and retirement plans. Review and approve employee time entries within timekeeping systems. Resolve payroll discrepancies promptly and maintain accurate payroll records. Collaborate with HR and finance teams to update employee data and benefits information. Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and adjust processes accordingly. Address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters professionally and accurately. Prepare payroll reports and assist in financial audits as required. Utilize payroll software proficiently to enhance efficiency and streamline processes. Maintain confidentiality and uphold data security standards in handling sensitive payroll information. Qualifications Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. Demonstrated experience in payroll processing and familiarity with relevant software. Knowledge of voluntary deductions including health insurance and retirement plans. Understanding of tax regulations, labor laws, and compliance requirements. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage a high volume of transactions. Commitment to staying updated on changes in payroll regulations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving payroll discrepancies. Discretion and integrity in handling confidential payroll information. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
