Position Overview

This part-time position includes approximately 18 student contact hours and 8 hours of planning, collaboration, and meetings each week.

Teachers are responsible for creating an engaging classroom where students are known, challenged, and loved while partnering closely with families in the educational journey.

Qualifications

Required

  1. A vibrant Christian faith and a heart for serving students and families
  2. Bachelor's degree
  3. Washington State Teaching Certificate (or equivalent certification)
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  5. Proficiency with Google Workspace or willingness to learn new educational technology
  6. Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
  7. Ability to work collaboratively with parents and fellow staff

Preferred

  1. At least one year of teaching experience
  2. Experience with individualized or hands-on learning (Charlotte Mason, Classical, Montessori, Project-Based Learning, or similar approaches)
  3. Experience in Christian education

ResponsibilitiesClassroom Leadership

  1. Create a joyful, peaceful, and well-managed classroom.
  2. Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons.
  3. Foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning.
  4. Differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs.
  5. Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback.

Partnership with Families

  1. Build strong relationships with parents as educational partners.

Student Development

  1. Encourage academic excellence alongside spiritual and character growth.
  2. Help students develop responsibility, independence, and strong learning habits.
  3. Model Christ-like character in every interaction.

School Community

  1. Participate in school events, parent trainings, open houses, and community gatherings.
  2. Collaborate with administration and colleagues to continually improve instruction.
  3. Maintain an organized classroom and uphold school policies.

  1. Salary: $24-26 hourly, based on experience and qualifications
