Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, the Front of House Utility position will provide ultimate hospitality for guests in a fast-paced, high volume environment by providing support to the restaurant staff at McCormick Place Convention Center. 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $25.47. 

This is a UNION position

McCormick Place located in downtown Chicago is the largest and most flexible convention center in North America., With over 2.6 million square feet of exhibition space, the campus proudly hosts some of the world’s largest and most prestigious conventions, meetings, and trade shows, welcoming approximately 3 million visitors to Chicago every year.

Runner/Restocker

• Pick up and transport of Hot/Cold food products from warehouse to designated restaurant locations.
• Setting tables and chairs, moving concession carts and helping stock carts with paper and food products
• Store all equipment in proper storage areas.
• Stock and Restock food shelves and coolers and ensure accuracy of items placed and labels facing forward
• Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor

Busser

• Setup front of house beverage areas and stock
• Properly stock all cutlery, napkins, condiments
• Clean all tables/chairs/counters/rails and glass areas within area of responsibility
• Sweep all areas of carpet and floors
• Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor

  Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position does not have supervisory responsibilities

Educational Requirement

• Must have a High School Diploma/GED
• Must have sufficient math ability to accurately add, subtract, divide, multiply and perform other basic business math calculations and pass basic math skills test.
• Must speak, be able to read and understand English well enough to converse with customers,
• supervisor’s and employees
• Understand written and oral direction and communicate effectively with others

Skills and Abilities

• Must possess good organizational skills
• Must have ability to follow directions and effectively perform the work
• Ability to work closely with others
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment; sense of urgency
• Must have a pleasant personality and adhere to Uniform Standards policy

The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move a minimum of 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
