Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

The Seattle Vaccine Trials Unit (VTU), led by Dr. Julie McElrath, is part of Fred Hutch's Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division. The VTU implements an array of studies researching the treatment and prevention of HIV and other infectious diseases. It is one of the 22 research sites within the HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN), the world's largest publicly-funded multi-disciplinary international collaboration. Through the HVTN and other study sponsors, the VTU conducts phase I, II, and III clinical trials designed to test the safety and efficacy of HIV vaccines.
Located on Seattle's First Hill, the VTU is responsible for the recruitment, selection and enrollment of local volunteers. Since opening in 1987, Seattle VTU has worked with local community members who are interested in participating in research and has provided education to the local community. The VTU has had a long-term presence at local events, including Columbia City Night Market, Capitol Hill Farmers Market, Umoja Festival, Northwest Black Pride, Pride Asia, Trans Pride, Seattle Pridefest and many House Balls.
Together with the help of our volunteers, we hope to end the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
As a member of Fred Hutch's Vaccine Trials Unit's Outreach Team, the Social Media Coordinator will work with outreach staff to help support content and communications efforts to find potential volunteers for research studies. Reporting to the Operations and Outreach Manager, you will be responsible for supporting social media channels, digital content and outreach initiatives designed to reach a variety of audiences, including people who may be eligible for studies, community partners and other departments within the Fred Hutch community. You will also collaborate with full- and part-time outreach staff to create plans and strategies for engaging people in the local community.
This is a part-time, benefits-eligible position (20 hours per week).

The hourly pay range for this position is from $25.71 to $36.60 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security.
