Job Description - Part-Time Admissions Associate

Buffalo Seminary is an independent day and boarding high school for college-bound girls. Founded in 1851, SEM is located in the historic Elmwood Village neighborhood of Buffalo, New York and is registered on the National Register of Historic Places. Our five student and faculty residences are renovated historic homes adjacent to our school building. At SEM, girls are united in their ambition for a superb and challenging education and find a comprehensive program that prepares them well for both college and lifelong endeavors.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

The Admissions Associate is responsible for representing SEM to prospective students and families, providing excellent customer service and guidance throughout the admissions and enrollment cycles. Reporting directly to the Director of Enrollment Management and working closely with the entire Admissions and Marketing team, this position will be part-time.

Essential Duties including the following:

Manage and serve as the main point-person for the software that supports the office, including Finalsite Enrollment and Google Calendar, with quick and accurate data entry. Conduct frequent reporting within Finalsite Enrollment. Manage the processing of application materials and records within Finalsite Enrollment on a daily basis.

Work closely with the Director to brainstorm, plan, and execute various strategies as it relates to recruitment of students in all markets.

Lead logistical planning for admissions events, including Open Houses, Visit Mornings, etc. in collaboration with the Director and the team.

Counsel prospective students and parents by leading tours, through phone conversations, and via email.

Oversee the Red Key Society, SEM’s student ambassador group, and help train ambassadors for campus tours/events.

Monday – Friday work schedule with occasional evening or weekend event commitment.

Required Knowledge/Skills:

Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team; flexibility regarding responsibilities.

Enthusiasm for a fast-paced, high-energy and collaborative work environment

Positive attitude with attention to detail and accuracy

Technology fluency and intuition as it relates to data within software systems and databases

Eagerness to learn new systems and strong data skills

Bachelors Degree Required
