Job Description - 1st Shift PVD Coatings Quality Inspector


California Faucets is looking to bring on a talented 1st Shift PVD Coatings Quality Inspector. This role is based on-site in our Huntington Beach, CA facility. The hours for this position will be Monday through Friday, full-time from 5:15 p.m.-2:00 p.m.

The Quality Inspector/Sorter is responsible for supporting the delivery of outstanding products. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products have been visually inspected and meets quality standards. The QC process consists of carefully going through each part to make sure the product is flawless. The Sorting process consists of grouping the different parts that belong to the same Purchase Order.

In addition to these duties, the Quality Inspector will also:

· Perform visual inspection of parts for high quality conformance.

· Accept or reject finished items.

Document and correct quality issues.

· Share your quality knowledge and experience to help create a best-in-class quality inspection process.

· Build and improve quality systems and documentation including SOPs and quality specifications.

Review documentation to ensure specifications are followed.

· Inspect products for defects such as scratches, surface finish, etc.

· Assist with identifying and correcting problems.

· Communicate production issues to supervisor.

· Quarantine non-conforming parts.

· Complete necessary paperwork to fulfill customer and quality requirements (e.g. recording data, quantities inspected, etc.).

· Ensure all systems transactions are completed and documented.

· Communicate non-conformance issues to management in a timely manner in order to drive process changes and improve quality.

· Recognize various types of finishes.

· Track and label product accordingly.

· Perform other duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • Adaptability/flexibility when encountering problems. Must be able to communicate issues to team leader and be able to solve problems and implement solutions.

· Ability to follow instructions and comply with all safety regulations including the use of personal protective equipment.

· Contribute to team effort by performing other supporting tasks as required by Shift Leader.

· Ability to work overtime as needed.

Environmental and Safety Considerations:

· Possible exposure to heat, cold, dust, and moderate noise when working indoors.

· Must be able to follow proper lifting techniques.

· Able to do repetitive work.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

People Interface:

The position requires contact with Production Department.

Decision Making:

The position involves working with order forms. It requires judgment in proper movement of product and selection of process. It also involves the use of various warehouse related tools.

Supervision Received:

Under general supervision, assignments are both task-oriented and objective-oriented. Follows established procedures for routine work; receives specific instruction on non-routine problems. Other general manufacturing duties as assigned by supervisor.

Accountabilities:

After adequate training, the position requires a level of accountability to complete a pre-determined amount of work or units per shift.

Education and Experience:

Preferred educational requirement to successfully perform this position is a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate. Some relevant work experience is desired but not required.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand extended periods of time (8 hours plus); walk; reach with hands and arms below and above shoulder; use of left and right-hands for fine and simple manipulation such as grasping and squeezing; climb, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, squat, twist or crawl. The employee may be required to lift/carry 1-50 pounds when necessary.

Salary Description

$19.00 per hour
