Scope of Role

The Burrito Inspector is a vital member of the production quality team responsible for ensuring that all burritos meet Red’s All Natural quality and food safety standards before and after packaging. This role focuses on inspecting product appearance, weight, wrapping integrity, date codes and adherence to specifications to maintain consistent product excellence and support smooth production flow.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain focused and productive in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
  • Flexibility to support changing production demands, including overtime and weekend shifts.

Key Functional Skills/Knowledge

  • Inspect each burrito for proper size, shape, weight, labeling and appearance according to product specifications.
  • Check for consistent wrapping and sealing integrity.
  • Identify and remove non-conforming products promptly to prevent defective items from advancing down the line.
  • Reworking acceptable product back onto the production line.
  • Perform random weight checks and record findings accurately to ensure compliance with labeling and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor line flow and collaborate with operators to address product quality deviations in real time.
  • Communicate issues or trends in defects to supervisors and quality assurance personnel to support root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist with documentation of inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
  • Support line sanitation, changeovers, and minor cleaning activities to maintain a clean and safe inspection area.
  • Follow all food safety, GMP, and hygiene protocols consistently to uphold product integrity and protect consumer safety.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend information.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize subtle quality defects quickly.
  • Ability to read and follow SOPs, quality standards, and work instructions accurately.
  • Basic math skills for performing weight checks and completing inspection records.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive hand and arm motions.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs as needed.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience working in a high-speed food manufacturing environment.
  • 1 year or more of experience in a food production, quality control or quality assurance experience role
  • Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP principles, and food safety standards.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing facility with variable temperature zones (hot and cold environments).
  • Exposure to raw and cooked food ingredients; strict PPE compliance required.
  • Standing, bending, and repetitive hand and arm movements throughout shifts (up to 10 hours).
  • Frequent lifting and carrying materials up to 30 lbs.
