2nd. Shift Slitter Operator

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Slitter Operator to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating slitting machines to accurately cut master coils of metal into narrow strips according to precise specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and tend the metal slitting machine to cut metal coils to specified widths, tolerances, and quality standards.
• Setup: Interpret work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine required machine settings, tooling (knives, spacers), and material requirements.
• Quality Control: Inspect and measure slit coils using precision instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, tape measures) to ensure conformance to specifications. Identify and report material defects.
• Material Handling: Safely load master coils onto the machine and unload finished slit coils.
• Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning, and minor adjustments to the slitting machine to ensure optimal performance.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout protocols, and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Documentation: Accurately complete production logs, quality inspection reports, and inventory documentation.

 Experience: 6months to 1 year of experience operating a metal slitting machine or similar precision coil processing equipment (e.g., cut-to-length, blanking).

• Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders.
• Math Skills: Proficient in basic shop mathematics and the use of precision measuring tools.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods,and perform physical tasks in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Forklift and/or Overhead Crane certification.
