7D Van Driver (Part-Time)

Under the supervision of the Child Care Director, the Driver for Out of School Time care is responsible for the safe operation of YMCA vehicles and the transportation of program participants to the afterschool program in the 8-passenger van.

** 7D License is required for the position. The YMCA will assist the right applicants in obtaining a 7D license and will cover the costs affiliated in getting licensure.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the safe transport of YMCA program participants and other passengers.
• Treat all children, YMCA staff, and WPS personnel with respect at all times.
• Adhere to and enforce all YMCA safety and usage regulations for all passengers.
• Adhere to guidelines for drivers of YMCA vehicles.
• Responsible for daily check-in with School’s Out staff regarding changes to the schedule.
• Responsible for daily inspection of interior and exterior of YMCA van.
• Responsible for making sure the vehicle has proper gas prior to transporting passengers.
• Responsible for day-to-day cleanliness of the van.
• Responsible for making sure the vehicle is secured, windows are closed and doors locked, at the end of your shift.
• Responsible for daily sign off on activities at completion of shift and documenting hours worked on timecard.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 year's old
• Must have a valid Massachusetts driver's license
• Must hold current valid 7D license or able to obtain license within 30-60 days of hire
• Must have an excellent driving record and at least 2 years of driving experience
• Must have excellent communication & interpersonal skills

Schedule: Monday - Friday afternoons between 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. 10-15 hours per week

Job Type: Part-Time, Hourly

Pay: $18.00 per hour. Plus, access to YMCA facilities (gym, pool ect.) for all YMCA employees, Employee Assistance Program, Sick Leave
