9- 14 Extended Day Assistant, Part-Time

The Near North Montessori (NNM) School Extended Day Faculty (part-time position) works with the after school teams along other staff members to provide a caring, warm and fun environment for students after the school day ends.  Hours of this program are Monday – Friday 2:30pm to 6:00 pm during the regular school year and additional work may be available over the summer season.



Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Provide care for and lead/participate in activities for students enrolled in the after school program
• Work collaboratively with after school staff to plan fun, developmentally appropriate activities within the after school environments (both indoor and outdoor)
• Assist with organization and preparation of the afterschool rooms and other spaces used on a daily and weekly basis
• Assist students with transitions in and out of after school, this includes other school activities, snack, carpool/pickup and more; ensuring safety at all times and following established school protocols for child pick up and drop off
• Clean the assigned after school room and provide input into ideas for new material and room arrangement
• Update records and paperwork as directed by the supervisor
• Acquire professional training in the educational field by attending educational conferences, training workshops and other related activities
• Be flexible, open, and responsive to changes in assignments, being available for on-call shifts as child care assignments are added based upon the changing needs of the Programs department
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested

• Proficiency in the use of Google Docs
• Bachelor's degree preferred

Additional Information

• Full-time employment to start in August of 2025.
• Pay Information: The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 an hour based on skills and experience.
