A&P Mechanic/Scenario Actor

Summary

The A&P Mechanic/Scenario Actor must accurately repair and perform scheduled maintenance, and assist in aircraft modifications. This position will also support research and development of customer airborne and ground missions, operates and maintains customer equipment in both static and dynamic scenarios primarily within the Hagerstown and Tristate area.

Essential Functions

1. Fully analyzes all required blueprints, drawings, work orders and sketches to troubleshoot, repair and install desired product or part. Detects errors and corrects through proper departmental channels. 


2. Assist the shop with meeting schedule needs to make on-time delivery of the aircraft to support missions.


3. Inspects all aircraft parts for damage, prior to installation.


4. Works effectively with engineering in recommending design enhancements and productivity improvements.


5. Effectively troubleshoots and repairs all aircraft and customer systems.


6. Setup and operate air to ground communications equipment.


7. Operate and maintain customer equipment in both static and dynamic scenarios.


8. Operate vehicle, driving.


9. Prompt communication through radios, emails, text messages and phone calls.


10. Managing travel expenses and generating regular expense reports with accuracy


11. Prompt and regular attendance.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time, variable hour position not to exceed 25 hours at any week. Days and hours of work are as-needed and primarily fall between Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Hours may be required outside of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, per customer request. When scheduled to work as a Scenario Actor, in the event employee is released early, the employee will be paid for at least eight-hours of work. Lunch breaks are unpaid and per the customer’s schedule, with a maximum of a one-hour unpaid lunch. However, evening and weekend shifts may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

This position requires regular travel within the Hagerstown, Washington, Baltimore and Tri-State area. Travel to areas outside Hagerstown, Washington, Baltimore and Tri-State area may be required on occasion, per customer request.

Required Education and Experience

1. High school diploma or equivalent.


2. Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.


3. Previous aircraft-related experience or have demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform all job tasks.


4. Pratt & Whitney PT6.


5. Aircraft Towing.


6. Extensive knowledge of all aircraft mechanical systems functions and interactions. Thorough working knowledge of all current FAA regulations, IPC and ATA codes.

Preferred Education and Experience

1. King Air B300 phase maintenance experience.


2. Cessna 208B experience


3. Cessna Citation experience


4. Prior training experience on aircraft mechanical systems.
   

 Other Hiring Requirements

1. Valid Driver’s License.


2. U.S. Citizenship.


3. Must hold or be able to obtain a DOD Secret Level Clearance (at minimum).


4. Must pass a DOT/FAA regulated drug screening.


5. Must be able to obtain a passport.
