Accompanist (Part Time)

Atlanta Classical Academy seeks a part-time Accompanist to accompany the student choir. The Accompanist will assist the Music Teacher in providing musical support through musical instruments. This part-time position is for the 2025-2026 school year and reports to the Fine Arts Director.

The tentative schedule is as follows, and is subject to change:

• Wednesdays:
• 9:00-12- Accompanying the 6th, 7th and 8th grade choirs.
• 2:30-3:20- Accompanying the elective choir on A days.

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Adhere to the school’s mission and the principles of classical education.
• Guiding students to enjoy, appreciate, and interpret music by developing their own creativity and relation to other subject areas in the curriculum.
• Assisting in planning, preparing, and presenting programs for the school
• Maintain a structured, disciplined, and inspiring learning environment.

Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance, Music Education, or a related field from an accredited college is preferred.
• Previous experience working with children in a musical or educational setting is strongly preferred.
• Strong proficiency in performance of a musical instrument.
• Ability and willingness to obtain a clearance certificate from the GA Professional Standards Commission is required, which includes satisfactory completion of a background check and fingerprinting check.

About Atlanta Classical Academy:

Atlanta Classical Academy is an open-enrollment, public charter school open to students who reside within the Atlanta Public Schools district. The school opened in 2014 with grades K – 8, and has added a grade each year as students have advanced. It is now a K – 12 academy. The children of full-time employees have enrollment preference and would be offered a seat in the school.
