Job Description - Accounting Coordinator - Dollywood Theme Park - Part Time Year Round

At Dollywood Parks & Resorts, we create memories worth repeating. We do this every day across all properties, all located in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. They also bring fun, authenticity, collaboration, creativity, and genuine hospitality to their life and work.  The right Accounting Coordinator will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.


This candidate will provide general clerical services and support to the Finance Team in a professional and competent manner using established policies, procedures and expectations.


Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.


 


Summary of Major Duties & Responsibilities 



  • Responsible for accounts payable vendor set-up confirmations

  • Sorts and distributes daily mail for all properties

  • Daily scanning of upgraded tickets

  • Assists Sales Audit staff with filing, shred purges, collecting workpapers from properties, data entry, etc

  • Prepares and inputs purchase orders for division

  • Orders and maintains office supplies

  • Assists Senior Accountant with retail, critical parts and asset inventory

  • Manages confidential company documents, including retainage and destruction

  • Responsible for Authorized Signature Forms for properties and uploads into Paperwise

  • Maintains MSDS sheets, PEF forms and office supplies

  • Assists with cash vault audits

  • Projects based duties for Accounting Management Team

  • Excellent understanding of internal controls as specified in Company Procedures

  • Other tasks as required


Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties


 


Educational and Experience Requirements 



  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 2 year Accounting Degree preferred, but not required

  • 10 key by touch

  • Computer knowledge in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check including credit check screen

    vehicles as required




  • Must have a valid Driver’s License with current automobile insurance and be able to drive company vehicle




  • Must successfully complete a background check including motor vehicle and pre-employment drug screen

  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and ensure duties are completed within budget hours and within designated timeframe

  • Must be able to meet deadline/working to complete tasks by identified times

  • Must be able to perform at a high level of accuracy and efficiency

  • Must be able to be assertive when necessary to accomplish Company goals

  • Must be able to positively deal with all levels of management

  • Able to smile and make eye contact to make a friendly impression when greeting guests, vendors and other employees

  • Must have manual dexterity necessary to complete all job duties

  • Able to sit and/or stand for long/short periods

  • Able to comprehend instructions and retain information

  • Able to maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules including any required overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays

  • Able to be flexible to handle frequent changes in priorities

  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide with accuracy


  • Must be able to effectively communicate with fellow Guests and Hosts using approved communication methods



  • Driver's license and acceptable driving record required if appointed authorized driver

  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job

  • Able to tolerate temperatures of below 0 to 110 degrees

  • Able to work outdoors

  • Able to lift 25lbs

  • Ability to learn financial software and computer systems, as needed


 


Physical and Cognitive Requirements



  • Lifting and Carrying: Position may require occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs utilizing company’s safety guidelines for safe lifting  

  • Mobility: Position may require intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking for duration of shift, up to 13 hours. Employees may also be required to travel to various areas on property which may include changes in terrain, stairs and uneven surfaces 

  • Repetitive Movements: This position may require performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms or other body parts as part of typical job functions  

  • Environmental Conditions: This position requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat. Employees may be required to work indoors and outdoors 

  • Cognitive and Sensory Requirements: This position requires strong cognitive skills, including the ability to think critically, solve problems, process and retain information, have attention to detail and communicate effectively using approved methods
