Activities Assistant

Stoney Point Meadows, a Cassia community, is hiring an Activities Assistant, to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA! Do you enjoy spending time with others and making people smile? Then we have a great opportunity for you.

As an Activities Assistant at Stoney Point Meadows, you will use your creativity to conduct fun and exciting activities with our residents. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated with a genuine concern for our residents’ well-being, and has a creative personality and positive attitude who is a team player. 
 

Position Type: Part-Time

Shifts Available: 
Days 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Some Saturdays)
 

Activities Assistant responsibilities:

• Encourage, support, and assist memory care residents with activities.
• Assist in implementing therapeutic recreation programs.
• Interact and assist residents on a one to one basis outside of structured program times.
• Document activity attendance and degree of involvement.
• Act as a positive representative at all times.
• Display an attitude of courtesy and respect for all residents, families, and staff.
• Assist Activities Director as needed with activities for AL residents.
• Perform other related tasks as needed.

Activities Assistant Qualifications:

• Prior experience implementing activity programs to residents in a senior living setting preferred.
• Demonstrate good time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to display enthusiasm and a positive attitude in promoting activities.
• Creative aptitude for training in arts, crafts, and games.
• Good communication skills, including ability to give directions to others in a manner that is pleasant and easily understood.
