Join us as an Adaptive Group Wellness Instructor, leading our Minds In Motion class every Tuesday and Thursday from 3-4pm. Join our team and help positively impact the health and wellness of individuals with special needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead energizing, fun, and safe group classes for members with special needs.
• Support members in achieving their health goals by answering their questions.
• Maintain a working knowledge of wellness trends to provide effective guidance.
• Build authentic relationships with members and foster community connections.
• Keep accurate attendance records for classes.
• Respond to emergency situations while adhering to YMCA policies.

Qualifications

• Certification in relevant areas of expertise.
• Preferred: One year of experience teaching group wellness classes.
• Knowledge of best practices for special needs individuals.

Physical Demands

• Ability to conduct classes and activities effectively.
• Capable of performing all physical aspects of the position, including leading classes, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.

Training Requirements

• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire.
• National certification in group fitness instruction or YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification.
• New Employee Orientation required within the first week of hire.
