Job Description - Adjunct Piano Teacher

Description

Position at Leman Manhattan Preparatory School

Key Responsibilities:

● Planning and teaching 45-minute, one-on-one private lessons for students in grades K-12

● Sequencing and differentiating instruction to ensure consistent progress and growth for each student

● Setting and maintaining clear expectations for students regarding weekly practice and progress

● Assigning appropriate weekly material consisting of sequenced technical exercises/etudes as well as repertoire

● Communicating frequently with parents and the Léman Conservatory Coordinator

● Submitting bi-weekly lesson logs to the Léman Conservatory Coordinator

● Preparing students for the annual Léman Conservatory Recital each June

● Preparing students for auditions or competitions (e.g. NYSSMA, college auditions, etc.)

● Communicating in a professional and proactive manner

● Maintaining positive interpersonal skills

● Demonstrating independence and reliability

Required Preferred

Qualification	Bachelor’s Degree in piano performance or music education with a piano focus	Master’s Degree in piano performance or music education with a piano focus
Experience	3+ years of private teaching experience
Prior Knowledge	Piano method books, technique training exercises, and repertoire
