POSITION SUMMARY
The Administrative Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the General Manager, Music/Band Director, and staff as assigned. The Admin Assistant is responsible for leading the day-to-day administrative tasks at Soundcheck Rock Academy. Such as phone reception, word processing, data entry, filing, market research, and other administrative tasks. The Admin Assistant provides a positive first impression for potential and existing customers, fields calls from customers, schedules appointments, and coordinates community and school events. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Production and Development Support
1. Assist the General Manager in administrative tasks as required, such as monitoring needs and requests of our community.
2. filing paperwork
3. schedule lessons, trial lessons tours
4. Works CRM system for complete schedule and customer requests.
5. Works in Opus1.io for complete up-to-date notes attendance and assitiance to instructors and staff.
6. Maintain events calendar for the General Manger as directed and perform related tasks, including calendar items and media inquiries in a timely fashion.
7. Assist the General Manager in marketing, planning, and executing quarterly shows and various shows and festivals throughout the year.
8. Participate in organizational events as assigned.
Administrative Support
1. Support day-to-day operations, including but not limited to routine office functions, ensuring that assignments are completed accurately and timely.
2. Respond to telephone, e-mail, and web-based inquiries promptly and professionally for the office and the General Manager.
3. Process incoming mail daily; record contributed income.
4. Maintain hard copy and electronic files to ensure accessibility and provide documentation of operational functions and administrative actions, as assigned.
5. Monitor office supplies and equipment functions and report requirements to the General
Manager promptly to ensure operational efficiency.
6. Assist the Music/band director in coordinating, volunteer, and intern schedules.
10. Supports performance production needs under the supervision of the Music/Band Programs Manager and General Manager in areas of stagecraft as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Education
High school diploma minimum with marketing training, degree in business administration, communication, marketing, music, or arts management a plus.
Experience and Knowledge
1-2 years of professional experience in communications, office management, arts operations, or other non-profit environments involving significant public contact is required. Proficiency in Google Office Suite and basic web experience is highly desirable. *Background in performing arts, knowledge of CRM systems, and the ability to read music are a plus.

Soundcheck Rock Academy in Columbia MD is a performance based music school located in the heart of Howard County. Taking inspiring music lessons at our central location in Columbia MD allows us to accommodate students from Columbia, Ellicott City and all of Howard County Maryland. Where students take lessons, join a band, rehearse and play shows! We take music lessons and incorporate a team atmosphere and learning style. Students from 6 years old to 60 and older can take lessons in: Guitar, Vocals, Piano, Keyboards, Drums, Bass Guitar, Ukulele, Violin, and Saxophone. Join a real band, and play real shows and concerts! We have a variety of different experiences for everyone.
Our music approach is for students of all ages. From 6 to adults.
All of our programs are one on one lessons. Our programs can be taught one-on-one in-studio or one-on-one virtually , we can even do a hybrid of both in studio and virtually at our Howard County MD location.

The goal of our music school is to create a fun, inviting, and creative atmosphere that can help students create and learn with the help of our whole studio and performance based approach. We want students to learn from each other and our instructors. Learning life skills as they progress towards adulthood and beyond. We build the love of music and exploration, and with this approach the world of music will open.
We hire music teachers that have prestigious degrees from some of the top music programs in the country. But we also hire instructors that have played in local and national touring bands. All have been there and done it. For real.

Soundcheck Rock Academy is a community of like minded individuals. We are a place that is open and welcoming to our students and where they can safely follow their musical journey. Our students can access any part of our school during our regular business hours. Meet other students, work on homework, grab an open room and work on creating their own original music. They can even do their homework with free wifi.
