Northbrook Public Library seeks a Library & Technology Assistant
Part-time: 16 hours per week
Schedule:
Tuesdays, 4:45pm-9pm
Fridays, 8:45am-5pm
Sundays, 12:30pm-5pm
About the Position
We are seeking a customer-focused library assistant who is passionate about libraries and technology. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service experience; excellent technology skills, and be able to help people use library services and resources to fit their interests and needs.
This position will provide reference and technology assistance at our busy Reference desk as well as reader’s advisory assistance at our Fiction & Media Desk. Additional duties include assisting patrons during one-on-one technology appointments, and teaching technology classes. Opportunities will be provided for special projects that align with personal interests and library goals.
Successful candidates will be able to offer a consistently high level of customer service to all patrons that come into the library or when collaborating with team members.
Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience working in a library or customer service setting. A minimum of one year of customer service experience is required.
