Part-time Chemistry and Biology tutor needed for 1:1 sessions with students needing assistance with Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biology/AP Bio, and other highly-challenging science classes. Some tutoring experience required. Candidates with a degree in science (or a degree that requires a high level of science proficiency) will be prioritized. Must live near our location and/or have reliable transportation and the willingness to come in for sometimes just an hour, though most days will require multiple hours. Students will vary widely in age, but most are middle and high school students.
We work evenings and weekends during the school year and by appointment (which can include evenings) in the summer months.
Tutor must be predictably, steadily available at least 4 days a week (with only occasional requests for time off or changes to schedule). Graduate students, teachers, retired educators, or any qualified person looking to make some extra money without a huge commitment of time would all be good candidates for this job. Proof of subject proficiency required. $25/hr. to start. Between 4 and 12 hours a week is a reasonable expectation, but not a strict limit. Must be customer-focused and enjoy working with young people.
