About the School

The Montclair Cooperative School is an independent Early Ages through Eighth Grade school founded in 1963 and located in Montclair, NJ. We have an enrollment of  approximately 125 students, a program that is progressive and a community that is highly collaborative.

We are seeking an after school program assistant to work with our After School Program Coordinator,  Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm:

• On arrival, set up room for snack time, and clean/disinfect tables.
• Work with the Program Coordinator to engage the students in academic and social enrichment activities that expand and  enhance the school day in a meaningful way. This includes supporting homework completion, leading  fun fitness activities, and guiding children safely through all activities. 
• Must always be aware of the whereabouts of all the children assigned to your care.
• Report disciplinary issues to the After School Coordinator and assist in evaluating situations as they arise.
• Model positive guidance and effective management to maintain the safety and well-being and attention of all children
• Under the guidance of the Program Coordinator, organize program materials for lessons and activities, as well as document attendance, 

Rate of pay: $18 per hour

The Co-op seeks candidates who have some prior experience working with children in this age group  in a school or daycare setting.
