After-School Private Strings Teachers

McLean School (mcleanschool.org), is a K-12 co-educational independent school in Potomac, Maryland. We seek applicants for two vibrant Private Strings Teachers: one for Violin/Viola and one for Cello to begin in September. McLean School has, for 70 years, been helping bright students realize their full potential by providing a comprehensive college preparatory program that emphasizes small classes and differentiated instruction. Through our Abilities Model®, we embrace both traditional learners and ones with mild to moderate learning challenges. We recognize and teach to individual strengths, responding to areas of challenge, but never defining students by them. Position Details

• Lesson hours: 3:00–6:00 pm, weekdays
  
  


• Students range from beginners to advanced levels
  
  


• Individual instruction held on our campuses in Potomac, Maryland – Lochinver Lane Campus (8224 Lochinver Lane) and Falls Road Campus (11810 Falls Road). The campuses are 5 minutes apart from each other by car.
  
  

Qualifications

• Required Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance or Pedagogy
  
  


• Preferred minimum of 2 years of private teaching experience
  
  


• Passion for teaching young musicians


• Creative, flexible, and student-centered approach
