Airport Security Screener

Description

As an Airport Security Screener at Atlantic City International Airport (ACY), you play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our airport community. Under the guidance of the Operations Manager, you will conduct thorough security screenings of employees, their belongings, and other items, helping to maintain compliance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations and uphold the highest standards of airport safety.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct Security Screenings: Perform security checks on employees, their personal items, and other materials at designated times and locations throughout the airport.
• Verify Identification: Accurately check and validate employee identification badges and credentials.
• Operate Screening Equipment: Utilize advanced security technology, including X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other screening devices, to detect and prevent prohibited or dangerous items.
• Physical Searches: Conduct pat-downs and other physical searches when necessary, following established protocols.
• Monitor and Report: Remain vigilant for suspicious activity, promptly reporting concerns or incidents to management and appropriate authorities.
• Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all safety and security protocols to ensure a secure environment for all airport personnel.
• Maintain Work Area: Keep screening areas and equipment clean, organized, and in proper working condition.
• Communication: Clearly communicate unusual occurrences or the need for management intervention as required.
• Team Support: Collaborate with colleagues and assist with additional tasks as assigned to support overall airport operations.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
• Keen attention to detail and strong observational abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for data entry and documentation.
• Ability to learn and operate security screening equipment and follow company procedures.
• Willingness to undergo in-house training to meet all role-specific qualifications.

Preferred:

• Previous experience in security, airport/aviation, or customer service roles.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24/7 compliance with TSA regulations.
• Successful completion of a comprehensive background check.
• Ability to remain alert, focused, and professional under pressure.
