Andrew J Petro Pool Lifeguard (Summer Seasonal)

Do you enjoy being responsible and being able to provide supervision and safety of all in a community pool environment? If so, the YMCA of Central Massachusetts, is looking for you to join our amazing Aquatics Team who supervises the Community pool located in Southbridge MA!

The Community Pool is open for 8 weeks--Hours are Monday through Sunday, 11:00 am-5:00 pm (subject to change with extra programming). A regular predictable schedule will be provided--This is a Temporary Summer Seasonal Full-Time position. Must be available to work at least three (3) shifts per week for the entire season.

Lifeguards will be expected to lead and take part in weekly trainings and in-services specific to the facility. 

This position's responsibilities will include opening and closing the facility (depending on shift). These duties include, but are not limited to, raising and lowering flags, unlocking and locking bathrooms and supply closets, keeping the bathhouse neat and tidy, setting up/breaking down guard stations, and checking emergency equipment on a regular basis.

Qualifications:

• Be at least 17 years old.
• Pass a swim test (swim 500 yards in 12 minutes).
• Must be able to demonstrate rescues and job drills.
• Must be able to complete a 1-mile untimed run.
• Possess CPR, 1st Aid, and Lifeguard Certifications

Job Type: Summer Seasonal

Pay: $19.50/hour, Access to facilities to all YMCA employees, Employee Assistance Program, and Sick Leave.
