Job Description - Assistance County Coordinator (Internal Only)

Reports to: Program Director


Employment Status: Part-time/Non-Exempt


Location: Las Vegas, New Mexico



Impact of this Role 


Behind every Cooking with Kids class is thoughtful coordination of food and supplies that make hands-on cooking possible. In addition to the responsibilities outlined in the CWK Educator job description, the Assistant County Coordinator works closely with the Procurement Manager and county teams to coordinate the purchasing, organization, and distribution of food and program supplies across the county. The Assistant Coordinator may also support special events and assist the Program Director, Procurement Manager, and administrative team with related program needs as they arise.



What you will Lead and Support




  • Food and Supply Sourcing for the County: The primary role of the San Miguel Assistant County Coordinator is to coordinate food and supply purchasing for the county, including: (90%)



  • Communicate with CWK county Educators to submit weekly food order forms and to coordinate program food storage and distribution for county-wide school and cafeteria programs.

  • Purchase and distribute bi-weekly food and supply orders for CWK classroom programming, following safe handling, transportation, and storage practices. Assist with any emergency purchases for county CWK Educators.

  • Use a personal vehicle to transport CWK supplies and food within the county and from Santa Fe to the county as needed.

  • In partnership with the Procurement Manager and county teams, identify and coordinate food and supply sources that balance affordability, local availability, and familiar ingredients for students and families. Collaborate with local farmers and food system partners when possible and help build new relationships with regional producers and suppliers. 

  • Assist with the beginning of year and mid-year supply shopping, and order and organize supplies for educators.



  • Submit reports and supporting documents for all CWK purchases on time and according to instructions provided by the Executive Director or designee.



  • Assist the CWK administrative team in community and stakeholder engagement and outreach, as directed. (5%)

  • Assist in special events planning, purchasing, implementation, and reporting as coordinated with the Program Director or other admin staff. (5%)



Work Rhythm & Compensation


The pay range for this position follows the same compensation schedule as the CWK Educator Pay Scale. This role is anticipated to require 5-10 hours per week above CWK Educator hours. 



The Strengths You Bring


Required Skills



  • Open to internal applicants only.

  • At least one year of experience as a CWK Educator is required. Two or more years’ experience is preferred.

  • Experience organizing food and supply orders with CWK or similar programs, strongly preferred.

  • A driver’s license in New Mexico is required.

  • Candidates must live within 15 miles of the County Headquarters.
