Assistant at School Aftercare

Description

Saint Patrick School in McEwen, Tennessee, serving 158 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, seeks a creative and responsible individual who is willing to create a well-supervised and engaging Aftercare experience for St. Patrick students.

Job Purpose: The purpose of this position is to provide care for students after school.

Hours: Part-time, 11.25 hours/week

Schedule: Monday- Friday 3:15-5:30pm

Months: August-May

Responsibilities:

1. Provide supervision of and care for students in the aftercare program.
2. To provide a schedule for students so that they have time for homework, play, snack, and activities that keep them engaged and safe.
3. To be creative in the execution of the program.
4. Keep log of student hours and have students signed out by those designated to pick up students.
5. To release students only to their parents or those parents have given permission to pick up their student.
6. Uphold all the policies of the Faculty and Staff Handbook and the Aftercare Program Handbook
7. To enforce school’s Emergency Plan if necessary
8. To communicate in a friendly and clear manner to parents, teachers, staff, and students.
9. Any further duties assigned by principal.

3. Uses a pleasant, relationship-building approach with people, both students and parents
4. Able to both relate well with students and provide them direction and care.
5. Listens, understands, and responds to needs of others
6. Ability to present confidently
7. Ability to discipline students respecting their dignity and challenging them to grow in virtue and respect.
8. Ability to maintain and uphold rules for indoor and outdoor settings.

Preferred

1. Active Catholic
2. Some childcare experience
