Job Title: Assistant Volleyball Coach – High School
 School: St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School
 Reports To: Head Volleyball Coach / Athletic Director
 Job Type: Part-Time / Seasonal
 Location: Lee’s Summit, MO

Position Overview:

St. Michael the Archangel, a Catholic high school committed to academic excellence and spiritual development, seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Volleyball Coach for the girls’ high school volleyball program. The assistant coach will support the head coach in developing student-athletes both on and off the court, reinforcing Catholic values and fostering a positive, respectful team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Support the head coach in planning and running practices, drills, and game strategies.
•  Assist in the supervision and development of student-athletes, emphasizing sportsmanship, skill development, and teamwork.
• Encourage and model Christian values, integrity, and discipline in all team interactions.
• Help coordinate team logistics, including travel arrangements, equipment, and uniforms.
• Monitor academic progress and promote a healthy balance between athletics and academics
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, staff, and administration.
•  Attend games, practices, team meetings, and other school-related functions as required.
• Maintain compliance with school, conference, and state athletic association rules.
• Assist with fundraising, team-building activities, and community outreach when applicable.
  
   

Qualifications:

•  Prior volleyball playing or coaching experience preferred (high school level or above).
• Must be supportive of the mission of Catholic education and able to model Christian values.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and parents.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
•  Must complete required background checks and training (e.g., Safe Environment certification).
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
  
   

Working Conditions:

• Requires evening and weekend availability.
•  Involves physical activity, including demonstrating volleyball techniques and leading warmups.
• May require travel to away games and tournaments.
