The Disciple-Making (DM) Associate will support GFC’s adult disciple-making ministry by equipping and shepherding volunteer leaders to carry out the mission of GFC – to make and multiply disciples. This role focuses on recruiting, training, and coaching leaders, providing care and encouragement, and building sustainable systems that support disciple-making pathways. The Associate plays a critical role in multiplying leadership capacity, strengthening community life, and ensuring people are connected and growing in their walk with Christ.
Primary Position Responsibilities:
Leadership Recruitment and Development
Actively recruit, equip, and deploy volunteer leaders for groups, classes, and disciple-making initiatives
Provide ongoing coaching, encouragement, and pastoral care for leaders
Develop systems to identify, train, and mentor emerging leaders
Helps leaders cultivate healthy, multiplying groups
Training and Equipping
Assists in planning and facilitating leadership trainings, workshops, and development events
Contributes to the creation and refinement of disciple-making curriculum, resources, and tools
Ensures leaders are equipped theologically, spiritually, and practically to shepherd others
Shepherding and Pastoral Care
Builds relationships with leaders and participants, providing pastoral presence and support
Walks alongside leaders in moments of challenge, offering encouragement and biblical counsel
Models and multiplies a culture of spiritual growth, prayer, and relational disciple-making
Systems and Ministry Support
Partners with the Director of Disciple-Making to design and maintain systems that ensure smooth leader onboarding, care, and multiplication
Tracks leader involvement, training participation, and group health
Supports communication and follow-up processes for group participants and leaders
Candidate Criteria:
Growing, vibrant relationship with Christ and strong Christian character.
Commitment to Grace Fellowship Church’s Statement of Faith, Vision, Mission, and Values. Active and engaged member of GFC.
Strong communicator; relationally engaging with people from diverse backgrounds.
Strategic thinker skilled in developing systems and equipping leaders.
Emotionally intelligent; handles sensitive issues with care and biblical wisdom.
Technologically proficient with tools for communication, presentation, and data management.
Team oriented and collaborative across ministries.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Previous ministry leadership experience preferred (paid or volunteer).
Passion for discipleship and multiplying leaders.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Relational and pastoral, with a demonstrated ability to recruit, coach, and shepherd leaders.
Visionary leader who builds systems for growth and sustainability.
Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills; a problem solver, resourceful, collaborative
Proficiency in creating engaging written and visual content.
Working Hours and Conditions:
Business Hours/Exceptions
Part-time (20 hours/week), including Sundays, evenings, and weekends.
Required participation in GFC’s three “all hands” annual events: Christmas, Easter, and Fall Launch.
Working Environment
Primarily on-site with limited remote flexibility.
Collaborative and Christ-centered team culture.
Travel Requirements and Expectations
Occasional off-site staff meetings and periodic travel for training and enrichment may be required.

Commensurate with experience and capability. To be discussed further during the hiring process.
