Baltimore Elementary School Tutors '25/'26

About the Role

HeyTutor has partnered with a local school district in Baltimore to provide high-impact, in-person tutoring to Elementary School students. Applicants must have completed an Associate’s degree or higher, or be currently enrolled in college.

We are hiring English & Math Tutors to support students in grades k–5th during the school day. This is a great opportunity for college students, aspiring educators, and education professionals looking for consistent hours, competitive pay, and meaningful work in their community.

You’ll work with small groups of students to help close learning gaps, build confidence, and create a positive, engaging learning environment. Tutors must be comfortable working independently with students and completing an in-person background check.

Pay & Benefits

• $22–$26 per hour, based on education and experience

Schedule

• Monday–Friday availability required
• Must be available between 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• School-day hours only

Key Responsibilities

• Tutor small groups of Elementary students without direct teacher supervision
• Deliver lessons using provided curriculum and materials
• Create a welcoming, engaging, and structured learning environment
• Support positive student behavior and participation
• Track attendance and student progress using the HeyTutor Dashboard
• Assist with baseline and summative assessments when requested
• Escort students to and from designated areas on campus
• Clock in/out daily using Deputy
• Complete additional duties as assigned by your manager or school site

Requirements

• Spanish Bilingual is a plus!
  Completed AA degree or higher, OR currently enrolled in college (required)
• Experience working with children or tutoring (preferred)
• Comfortable tutoring Elementary Math and English Language Arts (ELA)
• Ability to manage small groups independently
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting
• Ability to pass an FBI-DOJ in-person background check (provided by HeyTutor)
