Banquet Floor Attendant (Part Time)

The Study at University of Chicago is currently seeking a Banquet Floor Attendant, to provide genuine hospitality and the highest quality of service to our guests. This position will be responsible for the setting up and breaking down all meeting and event space.

Hourly Rate: $21/hr

Responsibilities

• In charge of setting all events and banquets from 10-200 people in size  
• Partner with the Banquets team to make sure rooms are cleaned before, during, and after events
• Interact with clients to ensure rooms are set to the event specifications
• Filling water stations or putting out and refilling water on the tables
• Vacuuming rooms after events are completed
• Emptying trash at the completion of the events or when needed

Fundamentals

• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of work experience within a hotel or banquet environment
• Must have knowledge of what a BEO is and how to read them to execute events
• Willingness to work with other for the greater goal of the team
• Flexibility to work any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency in English required. A second language is desirable.
• Strong organizational skills, including follow-up, time management, ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to positively communicate and interact with all hotel departments.
• Ability to grasp, lift and or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 75 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods indoors with a thematically climate-controlled workstation.
