BANQUET PORTER (ON CALL)

The Banquet Porter is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer. They are also responsible for the setup and takedown of banquets, meetings, and ballroom functions.

The Banquet Porter:

• Provides superior customer service, positively effects interactions with customers and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.
• Responsible for the set-up and breakdown of the meeting rooms and any room used for group meetings or any catered event.
• Must arrange all equipment storage areas neatly, inventoried and organized at all times.
• Responsible for the linen used in this department.
• Tracks upcoming events and banquets.

• Ability to stand and perform physical tasks for the majority of a shift
• Ability to inspect and maintain areas for which responsible.
• Ability to effectively and efficiently move around banquet areas.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of employees.
• Ability to review and comprehend necessary documentation.
• Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed
• Indiana ABC Permit (Liquor License) required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain all appropriate licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
• Must be at least 18 years of age. 

The skills necessary of position can typically acquired through two months of on-the-job training and/or through related experience.
