We are looking for a hardworking and motivated individual to join our team as a Bar Back at Ale Mary's.

The Barback is tasked to assist the Bartenders and Servers with food and drink service following established guidelines, procedures, and policies for food and beverage safety controls as prescribed by company standards. They are responsible for assisting Bartenders and Servers to ensure they have everything they need to serve customers efficiently. Their duties include replacing kegs, restocking glasses and other supplies needed to make drinks, clearing and setting tables, and maintaining a clean dining space throughout their shift. Barbacks interact with guests and staff in a cordial, efficient, and professional manner. 

The ideal candidate for this position has a positive attitude, a passion for excellence in hospitality, and can work a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Keep the bar and restaurant stocked with liquor, syrups, glasses, utensils, napkins, and all other necessary items before and during service hours.
• Prepare garnishes, refill ice wells, change beer kegs and restock napkins and straws.
• Clean up the spills, remove the glassware and organize the counter.
• Keep the bar area neat and clean.
• Coordinate with managers, service staff, and kitchen staff to ensure efficient service to customers.
• Handle clean up situations, like cleaning up spills, or broken glasses, and clearing up clogged drains.
• Greet all customers in a warm, sincere, and helpful manner
• Ensure that work areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored
• Follow safety and sanitation rules and practices
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all company policies
• Bus and set tables and performs side-work as needed
• Work alongside Bartenders and Servers to deliver excellent customer service
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma preferred
• One year of relevant experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
