The Atlanta History Center is seeking a personable, skilled, and hospitality-driven Bartender to join our team on a part-time basis. This position plays a vital role in enhancing the guest experience during events and gatherings hosted at the Center. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting a variety of classic and specialty cocktails, as well as serving beer and wine, all while providing exceptional service.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong working knowledge of spirits, an eye for detail, and a passion for creating a welcoming environment. As a visible representative of the Atlanta History Center, you will be expected to maintain a polished and professional demeanor, upholding our mission and values in every interaction with guests and colleagues alike.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the bar is fully set up and ready to open 15 minutes before the designated opening time, including all products, serveware, signage, and supplies.
Greet guests warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their experience.
Organize the bar area to optimize drink preparation and maintain efficient inventory management.
Report any inventory shortages, deficiencies, or spills to the supervisor promptly.
Prepare bar products, mix ingredients, and serve beverages according to standard procedures.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of all items available for sale and be prepared to answer guest questions.
Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly, verify guest identification, and comply with all alcohol service regulations and policies.
Perform regular clean-up duties to ensure the work area remains neat, including the cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
Breakdown and properly store any products and supplies at the end of the shift, ensuring items are returned to their designated storage locations.
Requirements
Prior high-volume bartending experience is required.
Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Strong organizational skills are essential.
Must be adaptable and able to respond quickly and effectively to changing situations.
Excellent attention to detail and strong math skills.
Ability to interact confidently and professionally with the public.
Demonstrates excellent listening and clear communication skills.
Completion of alcohol service training (TIRV Training) is required.
Must have reliable transportation and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand and walk for 90% of the time.
Ability to lift up to 20+ pounds occasionally.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.
Must be able to work outdoors, including in varying weather conditions during all seasons.
