Job description
Position Summary:
The Behavior Technician at Ocean Psychological Services is responsible for providing direct 1:1 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and related methodologies to clients. This role involves ensuring the implementation of client goals and objectives through lesson plans and data collection during each session under the supervision of a BCBA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement Applied Behavioral Analysis and related therapies to clients as outlined in individualized client treatment plans;
- Participate in professional collaboration, including attending client team meetings, engaging in mandatory quarterly staff meetings, and taking part in relevant training workshops;
- Conduct data collection throughout sessions to track client progress and inform treatment adjustments;
- Create instructional resources and materials to support therapy sessions;
- Facilitate social skills training for clients on an individual or group basis as appropriate;
- Monitor and respond to company emails on a daily basis during the week;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques - preferred
- Excellent data collection and analysis skills to track client progress effectively - Required
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members
- Cultural sensitivity and awareness when working with clients from diverse backgrounds;
- Proficient time management and organizational skills to ensure efficient delivery of services, including managing session schedules, materials, and documentation.
- Must be able to provide 15 hours of availability weekly from 3-8 pm (weekends optional)
Education and Experience:
- Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credentials preferred
- Highschool Diploma or GED - Required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, sit, and move around for extended periods during therapy sessions;
- Capacity to bend, stoop, kneel, and physically engage with clients as needed;
- Visual and auditory acuity to observe and respond to client behaviors accurately;
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 30 pounds as needed.
