Birthday Party Host

Description

Momentum Climbing is seeking dynamic, enthusiastic, and responsible individuals to join our Group and Party Staff team! This part-time position combines the responsibilities of both Birthday Party Hosts and Group Event Facilitators. Ideal candidates will be passionate about working with children, ensuring a fun and safe experience, and delivering excellent customer service to families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and engage with groups of 10-20 children during parties and group events
• Provide top rope belaying and assistance with climbing activities
• Facilitate games and activities, maintaining a positive and energetic environment
• Interact with parents to ensure their needs are met and provide updates as needed
• Enforce Momentum Climbing's policies in a friendly, patient, and respectful manner
• Ensure proper use of rental or personal climbing gear in accordance with gym policies and manufacturer specifications
• Develop a basic understanding of Momentum’s programs and services to provide accurate information to parents and participants
• Keep participants engaged, ensure a safe environment, and address any behavioral or safety concerns professionally
• Collaborate with fellow staff to maintain smooth operation of events

Requirements

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of climbing experience with a strong knowledge of climbing techniques and terminology (bouldering, top rope, minimum 5.10 inside and outside climbing)
• Comfortable working with children ages 5-16
• Previous experience in coaching, programming, or facilitation is a plus, but not required
• Ability to prioritize the needs of participants and create a safe, fun environment
• Certification in First Aid/CPR or WFR/WFA is preferred, but not required
• Ability to maintain professional conduct while engaging with children, parents, and other staff members
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
