Bistro Cook - Full Time/Part Time

We at the Courtyard by Marriott in Bradenton Riverfront believe heartfelt, customer service make people's lives better. Especially the people who work here. We are one of the top hotels in Bradenton, FL located on Manatee River.

We are accepting applications to join our team as an AM and PM Cook, and we are hiring for both day shifts (6am-1pm) and evening shift (4pm-11pm).  The starting rate for this position is $18/hr.  

We are a Courtyard by Marriott with a lobby bar and bistro menu. We also host smaller scale functions in our meeting spaces that can include banquet buffets.

Our Food and Beverage department is seeking a Cook to join the team! The Bradenton Riverfront Courtyard offers The Bistro – Eat. Drink. Connect ® dining experience, which provides refreshing breakfast choices in the morning and variety of dinner and cocktail options in the evening . The Bistro also offers specialty beverages made with Starbucks® products.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring all items are prepared according to company and brand standards to meet all health code requirements


• Preparing all hot and cold food items. Adjusts thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, boilers and grills


• Follow recipes and preparing food of consistent quality including all special requests


• Set up, clean and maintain kitchen work stations, practicing good safety standards, sanitation, and organizational skills.


• Restocks all items as needed through the shift


• Performs additional tasks as requested by the Executive Chef

Qualifications:

• High school Diploma/GED a plus but not required


• Previous prep or line cook experience a plus


• Understanding of professional cooking including basic techniques and working food knowledge


• Understanding and knowledge of safety , sanitation and food handling procedures


• Professional communication skills are required
