The Part-Time School Bookstore Position supports the daily operations of the school bookstore. This role includes assisting customers (students, faculty, and visitors), restocking merchandise, operating the cash register, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for purchases and returns
• Stock shelves with books, school supplies, apparel, and other merchandise
• Receive, unpack, and organize inventory deliveries
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the store and storage areas
• Answer questions about products, pricing, and store policies
• Assist with physical inventory counts
• Follow all cash-handling and safety procedures
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or currently enrolled in college
• Prior retail or customer service experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic math skills and ability to handle transactions accurately
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Flexibility to work weekday mornings, afternoons, or occasional weekends
Compensation:
• Hourly wage based on experience
